Methodology and sources
The analysis uses companies with NACE code 8623 (dental practice activities) registered with ANAF and the financial statements filed with the Ministry of Finance. The methodology is versioned; published figures can be reproduced for each version.
- Registered companies: legal entities with NACE code 8623 in ANAF records, including inactive ones, reported separately. They are not physical locations: one company may operate several practices.
- Companies with statements: reported net turnover for the given year. Individual medical practices do not file statements and appear only in the count.
- Average turnover is computed only over companies with turnover above zero. The median is the middle value of the distribution.
- Profit is published only in aggregate (share of profitable companies), because an average of profits and losses would be misleading.
- Cohort threshold: localities and ranges with fewer than 5 companies are not published, so that no single company's figures can be inferred.
- The reference year is the most recent year with complete statements (at least 90% of the previous year's company count). The year in the title is the publication year.
We do not measure: the number of physical practices, the number of dentists, service prices or patient numbers. This information does not exist in the public sources used.
